Practical and Professional English is a two-semester course for full-time students of the magister program. The aim of this course is to provide students with a means for developing and extending their use of English with particular emphasis on English related to teaching. The students are expected to have a C1+ level of English when starting the course and they will improve it towards C2 level.
The framework of the course is based upon a book called "English for the Teacher" (see Literature below)and it focusses on the English needed in the classroom, for studying the EFL teaching and learning, for participating in teacher development and teacher-training courses, conferences, workshops etc. The textbook material is further supplemented by authentic recordings from the BBC World Service, articles from English newspapers and professional journals as well as from the magazine of the English dpt. of PdF MU, The Messenger.
