Isolated cytostatic perfusions in the treatment of thoracic tumors

Isolated thoracic perfusion increases substantially local concentration of anti-cancer drugs in targed organs involved with malignant tumor. Isolated thoracic perfusion may provide more effective palliation of tumors of lungs, mediastinum and esophagus, allowing even the subsequent radical surgery of reduced tumor in some cases. Isolated thoracic perfusion of lung, mediastinal and esophageal tumors is not yet performed in the Czech Republic, the elaboration of the technique, clinical experience and established indications are needed.
