On productive culture of teaching and learning
The proposed project continues in such didactic research on teaching and learning that is
focused on the assessment of its quality and improving. The theory and design of the research
build systematically on the experience of the research team from previous GAČR projects. The
proposed project aims to fill the "blind spots" identified by previous research activities that
concentrated on the relationships between the characteristics of the learning environment and
developing students' understanding of educational content. The aim of the project is to
didactically analyze functional connections between key characteristics that determine the
quality of instruction, how students interact with the educational content in the learning
environment and ascertainable students' mental schemata that co-determine their
understanding and discussing of the educational content. The aim is also to develop the specific
methodology of assessing the merit of teaching and learning situations for the students'
learning. The two main outcomes will be a book publication and a impact-journal article.
