This project investigates the role of women as politicians and citizens in Europe and the Czech Republic. In particular, it aims to look at gender gaps in the preferences of women, the responsiveness of politicians to voters, elections, and the behavior of politicians. The team will investigate these question through collection and analysis of survey data, electoral data, and parliamentary data as well as lab and survey experiments. The project attempts to fill a gap in our knowledge of women as citizens and politicians in postcommunist Europe as well as understand the effect of populism and the Me Too movement on the position of women in politics.
