Chemical and structural changes and processes in crystals of minerals, such as growth or domain zonality, alteration and recrystallization will be studied through surface visualizations. A combination of electron microprobe (EPMA), laser ablation (LA-ICP-MS) and Raman spectroscopy methods will be applied. Selected metamict phases with U and Th content will be monitored, as well as high-quality crystals of the olivine group minerals and amorphous opals.
