The project aims to explain the role of the EU in enhancing recognition of same-sex families under Member States' national law. It identifies and analyses the means the EU has used to help protect rights of such families in cross-border situations. Using the example of the Czech Republic, the project then examines what influence these EU activities can have on legislation and court decisions within the Member States.
