The main objective of this Project is to support the implementation of the fourth phase of the global monitoring plan (GMP) for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) under the Stockholm Convention, and to contribute data to the fourth monitoring reports to be submitted to the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention.
The more specific objectives of the Project are to support the following activities:
(1) Ambient air and water sampling at the sampling sites of the Monitoring Network for POPs
(MONET) and the Aquatic Global Passive Sampling Network (Aqua-Gaps/MONET);
(2) Ambient air and water sampling at the sampling sites of the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF)’s POPs Global Monitoring Plan
projects (UNEP/GEF-GMP)
