In our study, we use the content analysis of school-books with aim to describe variability of particular topics in the curriculum. On this base, a new scanning methodology system for study of project content in curriculum could be developed. As a part in her doctoral thesis, author prepared a content analysis comparison of all authorised Czech biological school-books, used for teaching in six classes of lower secondary schools, prepossess with TIMSS´s content classification of textbook.
Results
In our research we work with biology textbooks for lower secondary education – 6.degree on basic school, viz the Czech Republic education system. All textbook with MENT note of approval. Finaly we choose seven biology textbook from seven publishing houses – that was our reasearch set. Enclosed data are showing results we get from basic content analysis, on basement of data sheet method. We keep track of thematic units, numer of pages, visual components, working topics and materials which are accompaning textbook like praktice book for teachers etc.
