Freeze-Concentrated Aqueous Solutions: Cooling of the Liquid versus Heating of the Glasses

The project aims to study freeze-concentrated solutions within ice I, II, V, and VI. We will use DSC, XRD, and electron microscopy to study phase behavior and salt segregation. Furthermore, we will use molecular probes to study microenvironmental acidity, solvatochromism, and aggregation within the freeze-concentrated solution.
