The BIOSKOP Science Center project aims to provide free, high-quality science education to children from disadvantaged backgrounds who have limited access to extracurricular learning opportunities. The program focuses primarily on 6th and 7th grade students from children's homes, socially excluded communities in Brno, and rural areas of the South Moravian Region. Through hands-on courses such as Cell and DNA Detectives, participants will explore fundamental biological concepts and perform experiments in an authentic laboratory environment under the guidance of scientists and educators. The project seeks to remove financial barriers to science education, strengthen scientific literacy, and inspire interest in STEM fields. During the 2026/2027 school year, BIOSKOP will deliver 12 science courses reaching approximately 250-320 children. Participants will gain practical laboratory skills, a better understanding of scientific research, and increased awareness of educational and career opportunities in science. The project will also identify and support talented and highly motivated students through access to BIOSKOP's free extracurricular science clubs and summer schools. By fostering curiosity, confidence, and long-term engagement with science, the project contributes to greater educational equity and helps develop the next generation of scientific talent.
