Keywords underwater discharge; PP nonwoven; copper; antibacterial properties
Description Underwater plasma discharge was used for surface activation of polypropylene fabrics with subsequent immobilisation of copper particles. Size and distribution of dispersed particles were measured by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and the chemical nature of crystals was confirmed by the Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis of the sample. „Determination of antibacterial activity – Agar diffusion plate test“ method was used to study the antibacterial properties of the PP treated and untreated nonwoven textile samples.
