| Description | Among sport organizations, the financial crisis has led to a need of looking for new sources of financing (different from public resources). In the chess world discussions were renewed concerning charging some services that are currently provided free of charge. The key legal issue connected with the implementation of these plans is whether chess game can be understood as an object of intellectual property and to whom these rights belong. In this paper the author will cover three main topics, i.e. copyright protection of chess games, protection of game databases and legal protection of on-line transmission of games. |
