| Description | Baroreflex belongs to systems of short-term blood pressure regulation. In everyday life we convince ourselves of its proper function because it is applied during quick changes of body position such as getting up or lying down (orthostatic or clinostatic reaction). The sensitivity of its adjustment is investigated by provocative manoeuvres or determined by mathematical calculations. In clinical practice it has remained as one of the parameters serving to stratify the risk of development of sudden cardiac death to patients with cardiovascular diseases. |
