Description For correct processing, health promotion programs require not only the key element of intervention as a project instrument, but also proper assessment, what means program monitoring and evaluation. Monitoring and evaluation should follow a sophisticated procedure with its standards and conditions that need to be respected. Before the evaluation of the project, it is important to determine the specific evaluation criteria; among basic condition of properly selected criteria are correctly selected indicators of the evaluation. Improperly set indicators, that do not reflect the objectives of the project and are not relevant to them, are the most common mistake in majority of health promotion programs. It is advisable to plan both internal and external evaluation and list their obstacles and barriers anticipated in advance. It is good to suggest perception of the term "project effectiveness" for each specific program, and to try to predict project “cost / effect” ratio. Proposals of health promotion programs, as a part of planned monitoring and evaluation, should include clearly defined methods of presentation the process, course and results of the program, including the final information derived from the results of monitoring and evaluation. The issue of monitoring and evaluation of health promotion programs, their procedure and methods should become subject to further studies, exploration and development and a part of the agenda in all areas dealing with prevention and health promotion.
