| Description | The thesis deals with the relation between quality of attention and sports performance in the shooting part of a top-level biathlon competition. It builds on pieces of knowledge from the field of sports personology, pre-start, competitive and post-start conditions as well as basic characteristics of biathlon including its psychological aspects. It presents selected research results of a survey conducted within a MUNI/A/0994/2010 project called Attention Concentration as One of the Prerequisites for Successful Shooting in Biathlon and MUNI/A/0829/2012 project called Concentration as one of limiting factors in cycling financed by the Masaryk University. The authors monitor the relation between the quality of attention and concentration as well as shooting accuracy in biathlon. |
