Description This chapture was aimed at determining the effects of senior-fitness Program on balance of older persons. Ten elderly people (n= 10, age: 64,4±3,77) were included in this study. They took supervised Senior-fitness classes for 14 weeks (90 minutes/lesson, 2 times per week). The main content of the lessons was dance and elements from rhythmic gymnastics. Static balance was assessed pre- and post- intervention by using FITRO Sway Check (30 s basic position, open eyes, 30 s basic position, closed eyes, 20 s right leg stand, knees together, 20 s left leg stand, knees together). For dynamic balance was used beam test (7 measuring steps, turn, 7 measuring steps, turn, 6 measuring steps). For the reaction speed measuring was used the gymnastic bar catching test and reaction-meter software test. All tests have been measured pre and post intervention program which was repeated 3-times. A significant progress in balance in the majority of cases was noted. There is no significant improve or degradation in the reaction speed. The study needs to be repeated with a greater sample size to determine the effectiveness of Senior-fitness on balance.
