Description Para-vaulting or acrobatics on horseback is one of many rehabilitation methods based on therapeutic pedagogical-psychological riding at the same time a discipline of sport riding for persons with disability. The aim of the study was to find out if a regular para-vaulting exercise has influence on coordination skills of competitors with disability and to determine outcomes of a regular intervention program on selected coordination skills. Selected group of six participants with disability were included in the case studies. The gymnastics exercises were designed to the program to improve orientation, balance and overall dexterity. Four standard tests were conducted by the vaulters from several riding clubs in the Czech Republic. First testing was in pre-competitions time in March 2011. Second testing was took place in post-competitions time in November 2011. We were working on a group through intervention program during March – November. The trainings were conducted in the horse riding club regularly 3 times per week. I came to the result through analysis of the results of motor test and the level of regular training increases. It turned out that the lack of long-term training, whether for any reason, unmistakably reflected in the results. Although some results doesn´t shown significant improvement on the coordination abilities I found of my own observations that they have more pleasure from training and they are looking forward to more training and are able to include more complex assembly exercises. This pilot study demonstrated the potential of a valuting intervention in athletes with a disability. Further studies are needed with larger groups to reveal the specific outcomes per type of disability or type of exercises.
