| Description | The aim of this study is to provide an overview of Czech and foreign rating scales for identification of giftedness in pre-school and school age. Although the validity of these methods has been questioned, there are numerous studies showing that the rating scales may be an useful part of the process of identifying giftedness. Beside being an useful addition to other instruments during the individual examination in pursuit of more accurate diagnostic conclusions, their potential can also be used during the screening process. The main part of the study consists of two sections. The first one shows the currently most widely used foreign rating scales to identify giftedness. The second one provides a list of rating scales available in Czech Republic and an overview of research studies that have been carried out in this area. |
