Description Celiac disease is considered to arise from an inappropriate T-cell-mediated immune response against ingested gluten in genetically predisposed people, whereas the Th2-type lymphocytes are mostly involved in IgE-mediated reactions. The coexistence of Th1- and Th2-type diseases together with Th17-type disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, is a part of inflammation and dysregulation of immune system. Investigation of IgA anti-tTG antibodies in atopic subjects may help to identify undiagnosed patients with celiac disease in our population. The variable clinical and laboratory picture in patient requires interdisciplinary physician’s cooperation with the complex therapeutic approach.
