| Description | This study material theoretically deals with the ethical problems of current medicine. In the beginning, the students are briefly acquainted with the general ethics, its characteristics and its position in philosophical systems and with basic principles of bioethics. The study material also depicts the ethical principles and their implementation in the codes of ethics and in the binding legislation. The following chapters deal with the areas of medicine which have to sort out ethical problems most often. In particular, the ethical questions related to the creation and termination of life, ethical questions connected with medical research, genetics, psychiatry, oncology and HIV disease. One chapter is dedicated to pediatrics. Each chapter includes some tasks for self-study, questions to think over, tests checking the acquired knowledge and key words. |
