| Description | An organic continuation of the three editions of the book Sociology in a nutshell (2002-2006), this e-learning course takes a fresh look at the current problems of the contemporary society through the sociological perspective. It deals with the concepts of society and socialization, emphasizes the consumerist nature of our contemporary culture as well as considers ill- defined sources and effects of globalization. Given the text specificity, it pays considerable attention to the functioning of contemporary sport, but it also deals with the highly topical issue of multiculturality of the contemporary world. The condition of our pro-reform society is brought to light through the issues of civil society, Romani issues and social pathology. |
