Description Creating the image of Great Moravia and its integration into the relevant historical narratives can actually watch in the 9th century. Elsewhere I have shown the interrelationships between the old church Slavonic cyrilomethodian legends, Legenda Christiani, Skazanijie o preloženii knig and Bios Klimentos. Moments from the history of Great Moravia that formed the basis of Cyril and Methodius Latin hagiography of the 14th century, however, also appear in the imperial chronicles and subsequently in the bohemian chronicles. We explored especially the legend Tempore Michaelis imperatoris and chronicles written by Kosmas, Dalimil and Pulkavovu. We found out that we can discern two main themes: one that comes out of Christian's legend, focuses on the fate of Cyril and Methodius, mentions Bořivoj's baptism and puts Moravia fall in connection with alleged contradictions between Methodius and Svatopluk, or other Moravian prince. Conversely the tradition inspired by Kosmas, who also mentions Bořivoj's baptism, primarily focuses on the relationship between the emperor and Svatopluk. In Chronicle of Pulkava and Dalimil both traditions get united. However, the fall of the Morava follows Svatopluk´s defeat in battle and Pulkava and Dalimil explicitly formulate the idea of translation of Moravian kingdom to Bohemia. Outfall and the reasons for the conflict are yet valuable insight into the intellectual world of our authors, showing how they imagined perfect relationship between the monarch and the bishop, respectively, between the Czech rulers and the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. The juxtaposition of individual variation also indicates which elements were shared by several authors, and which ones appear only at the individual writers and can be acknowledged as a part of "individual" discursive strategies.
