| Description | The contribution deals with problem, whether there is a correlation between the geographical and temporal distribution of the socio-cultural and religious phenomenon of holy fools (so called yurods). Two temporal aspects are analysed – period of life of the holy fools and period of canonisation of holy fools. These temporal aspects, the latter in particular, seem to correlate with political and cultural expansion of medieval Moscowian Rus. This paper also contributes to the question puzzle, why the "holy fools phenomenon" is spread predominantly over the territory of Russian Federation, esp. its European part. |
