| Description | The first continuation of The Chronicle of the Czechs by Cosmas, in which a well informed contemporary chronicled the news relating to the years 1126–1141, has been a matter of huge interest for historians primarily for its unclear provenance. Although the opinion that the author of those reports was a Canon of the Vyšehrad Chapter has prevailed for more than one hundred years, all those arguments which seem to point out that the mysterious chronicler was rather a member of the Metropolitan Chapter at St Vitus Cathedral, where the Cosmas Chronicle itself also originated, have not been adequately considered. |
