Description The motivation of the presented text was initiated by the results of the Czech curricular reform that has fallen behind initial expectations. As the reasons and goals of the reform werenot clearly stated, many problems are arising primarily in connection with its implementation. In this article, we focus mainly on the projected physical education curriculum. As a debated issue in our context we perceive the lack of harmony between the projected goals of physical education and curriculum content defined in Framework Education Programs and low congruence between different forms of the Czech physical education curriculum. This study presents the partial results of the analysis of the Irish projected physical education curriculum for primary education. The results of the analysis are followed by the comparison of selected aspects related to reviews of curricular documentsin the Czech Republic and Ireland in particular with regard to the problem of low congruenceof the physical education curriculum outlined above.
