Description The chapter serves as an introduction of the importance of carrying out an empirical research on legal interpretation methodology. It generally characterizes various types of empirical research in law and methods that are applicable during its processing. It also mentions how much they are empasized abroad and what is the application of the results of such researches. Furthermore the chapter briefly mentions the methodological approaches to the legal interpretation that are currently recognized, all other aspects the interpreter is influenced by, besides doctrines, during the interpretative process what can have an impact on the degree of deviation from the legal text, and what determines the limit between legal interpretation and something that could be called a judicial improvisation.
