| Description | The contribution deals with an article by Ricarda Vulpius (Feind und Opfer zugleich. Die unierte Kirche aus Sicht der Orthodoxen in der Ukraine (1830-1920). In: Manner, Hans-Christian, Spannenberg, Norbert (Hg.): Konfessionelle Identität und Nationsbildung. Die griechisch-katholischen Kirchen in Ostmittel- und Südosteuropa im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert. Stuttgart 2007, 19-40.), in which the topic of Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine from the perspective of Orthodox Church in 1830-1920 was analysed. In her paper, this historian focused on the topic of confessional identity in the context of nation-building process in Eastern Europe. A special attention in the contribution is dedicated to the problem of the role of priests in this process and to the very complicated position of Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine at this time. |
