Description The article aims 1) to define basic concepts of information science which delimitate its substance, and 2) to apply them to the principle of the natural law in order to gain first principle of information ethics. The main concept of information science is defined and the basic conditions of informativeness and quality of information is presented. The concept of data is delimitated and classified. The concepts such as knowledge and wisdom are defined. The substance of the information ethics is determinated and classified into two basic cathegories. The basic principle of information ethics is delimitated and criterions for which it is possible to distinguish whether data are in the concordance with this principle is presented.
