| Description | The Napoleonic wars was a breakthrough season, particularly due to the cumulation of inhabitants, which was caused by the establishing of enormous armies for its time. The results were similar to previous war conflicts, however, to a substantially larger extent: unusually large life losses, epidemies, famine, and economic collapses of most of the participating countries. This chapter's centre of gravity is the view of common people of the Czech lands, which has been the least written up one to date: i.e. their everyday suffering, hygienic and supply situation in the outbreaks of fighting. Attention has been paid to the very little explored issue of Landwehr and attitudes to the defence of the lands. |
