| Description | There are lots of tools that help us to obtain information from afar – telescope, telegraph, telephone, television. Besides them, there are also tools that allow us to physically manipulate with remote environment. The most advanced ones combine both, for example Mars rovers or unmanned vehicles, also known as drones. These technologies are particularly fascinating area for philosophical investigations, from epistemology to ethics. In this talk, I am going to elaborate in depth on the most intriguing philosophical topics covering drones, in respect to their role as tools created for obtaining information from afar and then to act upon it in a distance. Thanks to this, I’ll demonstrate how modern technologies might become a fruitful source for philosophical work, which might help us to better understand these inventions as a result. |
