Description The guiding principle of the institute of a informed consent is autonomy of a patient, especially the freedom of decision-making about himself. In what limits is the principle of autonomy maintained in the case of minors and persons with limited legal authority? The applicable law governing the provision of informed consent with the provision of health services or participation in medical research stipulates that consideration should be given to the opinion of the minor, or of a person with limited legal authority, according to the degree of their intellectual maturity. The question remains to what extent healthcare workers are required to make efforts to obtain this consent, or how to modify the information provided to maintain the greatest possible degree of autonomy in decision-making on participation in medical research within this patient group.
