| Description | Historic pottery is a basic archaeological source with high perceptual value. The publication presents a complex technological process for the production of medieval ceramics in accordance with the concept of the operating production chain (châine opératoire) based on direct and indirect production and inference documents obtained through the macroscopic and microscopic study of ceramics itself or by experimental research. Technological features on medieval ceramics are published in detail, according to which a method of production can be considered (especially forming techniques, burning). The publication can well serve as a textbook introducing students of history, archeology, ceramics, ethnography and natural sciences (geology, mineralogy) to a complex study of technology and archeometry of medieval ceramics. |
