| Description | An online discussion seminar dedicated to the work of the important contemporary philosopher of architecture Christopher Alexander, author of the four-volume work The Nature of Order. Filip Kinnert, an architect and doctoral student at the Department of Architecture Theory at the Faculty of Architecture, VUT Brno, presented his paper "The Struggle for Living Architecture: Christopher Alexander's Approach". In the ensuing discussion, in addition to Alexander's critique of modernism, we also payed attention to the topics related to Alexander's "traditionalist" project, especially the so-called pattern language and the relationship between architecture and theology. |
