| Description | The paper summarizes current knowledge about the effects of media stereotyping of minorities on audiences. It draws attention to the legislation relating to this area and also codes of ethics that oblige the media and journalists to avoid stereotypes. It briefly describes the essence of stereotypes and stereotyping, analyzes how the Czech media portray individual minorities, and summarizes the current knowledge (based on experimental research) about the effects of stereotyping media content on the majority and members of stereotypically portrayed minorities. |
