Description This article mentions drought and unevenly distributed rainfall throughout the year as the main risks of sugar beet growing in terms of weather. The impact of weather fluctuations on business can be eliminated by farmers either by drawing on subsidies from the state where there is no systemic solution yet or through commercial insurance. Farms are not obliged to take out agricultural insurance. Given the risks they face in doing business, negotiating affordable commercial insurance is a sign of a responsible approach to eliminating business risks and doing business in general. Agricultural insurance is relatively expensive and is therefore aided by the state. For ease of reference, an overview of commercial insurers providing crop insurance from 2008 to the present, including their market shares, is offered, accompanied by a brief overview of the commercial insurers' products that can be used for sugar beet insurance.
