Description The article informs Czech doctors about an unprecedented population growth that humanity experiences since the 1950s and how this growth, respectively human overpopulation, threatens the existence of both humanity and life in general on the face of Earth. Nevertheless, since the most rapid population growth happens (and further will happen) in Sub-Saharan Africa, it is a tabu to freely and publicly talk about it for fear of being accused of racism or neo-colonialist ambitions. However, the article disproves such arguments and points out that the environment has no borders and the environmental disruption in one part of the world affects all the others. Hence, it is impossible to ignore the rapid population growth in Sub-Saharan Africa as unrelated to the Czech problems. The article further informs about organizations that focus on population/overpopulation (Population Matters) or organizations that link the environment's quality and human health (International Society of Doctors for the Environment).
