Description This summary research report presents the findings from an experimental study, conducted at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, during two table-top exercises in 2019 and 2020. These exercises were conducted by staffers from the National Cyber and Information Security Agency, with the participation of representatives of various institutions who worked in mixed teams. During the experiments, cybersecurity experts’ individual emotional responses to simulated cyberthreats were investigated. The main aim of the study was to ascertain whether and if so to what degree there are connections between the structure of the team (or the characteristics of the team members), their performance self-assessments (immediately after the exercise and at a later point) and expert assessments of their performance by the exercise administrators. Statistically significant differences were found between the performance assessments of the participants from the various institutions involved (specifically based on their professional involvement with cybersecurity). The scales used for performance assessment and self-assessment during the exercise proved beneficial.
