| Description | The e-book focuses on the issues of degradation and protection of materials from the effects of various environments. First, the problem is systematically explained in terms of the interaction of materials and aggressive media, and then the basic principles of the mechanism, kinetic and forms of material degradation, especially corrosion of metals, corrosion of polymers in chemical environments and photochemical degradation and ageing of polymers in the atmosphere, are described. Protection systems against deterioration are analysed in the following section, with an emphasis on the selection of resistant materials, design solutions, inorganic non-metallic layers, metal and alloy coatings, organic paints, powder, and plastic coatings.
