| Description | Long-acting injectable antipsychotics of the 1st and 2nd generation have been developed with the aim of reducing the relapse of the disease in patients in whom it is not possible to ensure adherence to the oral form of prescribed drugs. Administration to outpatients is possible on the basis of meeting the conditions of prescription, which result from the decision of the State Institute for Drug Control. The conditions for reimbursement of the 1st and 2nd generation of this dosage form of antipsychotics allow their administration only during outpatient care. Specifically, in the 2nd generation, outpatient administration is connected to specialization in the field of psychiatry, from the reimburesment conditions, the administration is possible only after repeated hospitalization in case of relapse of an acute attack of this mental illness. |
