| Description | Despite a certain thematic selectivity, this monothematic collection aims to contribute to the engagement of age with gender studies and gender with studies of age and ageing. The dual relationship between gender and the aging body, as well as gender and aging, engenders a dynamic picture of social reality in which multilayered relationships between individuals, collectivities, structures, institutions, and ideas are constructed. As we seek to show through our texts, relationality can serve as a suitable theoretical and empirical framework through which we can trace the peculiar order and instability of what are arguably two of the most powerful human characteristics.
