| Description | On September 23, 2021, a conference organized by the Union of Defense counsels of the Czech Republic in cooperation with our faculty took place at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University. It was a traditional event that addressed current issues of criminal law, where this year's central theme was ten years since the adoption of the law on criminal liability of legal entities and proceedings against them (Act No. 418/2011 Coll.). This jubilee provided an ideal opportunity to take stock of the current developments, as well as the possible future of the mentioned institute. And it was this conference that provided a dignified platform for such an evaluation, with the participation of a number of important personalities (not only) from the field of criminal law theory and practice. These spokers gradually presented and at the same time discussed issues concerning the very basis of criminal liability of a legal entitis, the transfer of its criminal liability to its legal successor, sanctioning legal entities, pitfalls of criminal proceedings against a legal entity, custody of a legal entity or its defense in criminal proceedings, and many others - both supremely theoretical and purely practical, questions that the current development of the area of this criminal responsibility has brought. |
