Citation
Description For native Dutch and Flemish speakers a short utterance suffices to determine the correct natiolect (Dutch-Dutch or Belgian-Dutch). For students of Dutch as a Foreign Language, however, this may pose some problems. To what extent are they able to distinguish correctly between Dutch-Dutch and Belgian-Dutch? Which phonetic markers do they know and use? And what are the didactic implications of the results of the distinction test in which 66 upper intermediate and advanced students of Dutch took part?
