Description The research focuses on the migrant crisis that broke out during 2021 at the Eastern border of the European Union and achieved its peak in November 2021 and on its reflection in the discourse of responsible representatives of the EU institutions and the executives of Poland, Belarus and Russian Federation. The phenomenon is explored within the broader context of long-term crisis between the West (including the European Union and its member states) and Lukashenko´s authoritative regime in Belarus, which has been supported by the Russian Federation and the regime of Vladimir Putin. The analysis builds theoretically and methodologically on the basis of discourse-historical approach and on the existing research of the phenomenon of “blame” (blame assignment and blame avoidance) in discursive strategies of political actors. The broader aim of the paper is also to contribute to this research in the fields of international relations and security studies, including the research and discussion about the topic of migration as a tool in hybrid and information campaigns.
