| Description | The present contribution deals on the material of four books by Frank Wollman with his relation to the term “Central Europe” in the framework of his conception of Slavonic literatures. The author demonstrates, how from 1928, when the first book The Literature of the Slavs appeared, up to 1968, when the last Wollman’s book Slavisms and Antislavisms in the Spring of Nations was published, his conception remained stable in the sense he does not ignore the area attitude to literature, but, at the same time, he accentuates the integrity of Slavonic literatures as an undercurrent which has both the objective and the subjective natures. From this point of view Wollman’s work cannot fall into oblivion. |
