Description Regulation (EU) 2019/1238 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on the Pan-European Personal Pension Product (“PEPP”) was published in the Official Journal in July 2019. The aim of the PEPP legislation isto offer an alternative that will exist in addition to the existing options for old-age security. PEPPs will be able to be offered, for example, by insurance companies, banks, or investment companies. The Act on pan-European personal pension product in the Czech Republic responds to the PEPP regulation. According to the Regulation, PEPP should be of a long-term pension nature and should consider, as far as possible, environmental, and social governance factors (ESG), as set out in the United Nations-supported responsible investment principles. In my article, I will focus on the analysis of current legislation, the introduction of PEPP as a pension product and the introduction of the basic principles of its operation.
