Description Lowland wetland meadows are among the most endangered biotopes within the Czech Republic. The main cause is primarily the decline of the original methods of management, targeted drainage, subsequent overgrowth due to the spread of aggressive plant species, which displace endangered species of plants and animals. Therefore, the proper care of wetlands consists primarily of maintaining their open character, which can be effectively done by using grazing and mowing. Although it may not be apparent at first sight, these measures can also significantly affect small water bodies in the immediate vicinity of which the care is carried out. The article presents the pilot results of hydrobiological monitoring of water bodies in the meadow wetland of Krumvíř village.
