Description Cardiovascular rehabilitation and adherence to the principles of secondary prevention play a vital role in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. They prepare patients for a new life, which in many ways is different from the life they have been used to. The cardiovascular rehabilitation process requires a comprehensive approach. The collaboration of a cardiologist, physiotherapist, nutritional therapist, nurse and clinical psychologist is essential, as is the support of family and friends. Unfortunately, such a comprehensive approach is not always possible under current conditions. That is why this book, which has been missing on the Czech market until now, is now available to you. The book was written as a detailed guide and insight into the complex process of cardiovascular rehabilitation. It is primarily intended for all physiotherapists and other non-medical health professionals who wish to pursue cardiovascular rehabilitation. However, the information gleaned from the book will certainly also be of great benefit to physicians (cardiologists, rehabilitation physicians and general practitioners). The book is written from the perspective of the different specialties, cardiac diagnoses and the different phases of rehabilitation depending on the stage of the disease. Each chapter is written by clinical experts in the field. The book describes rehabilitation for a number of cardiac diseases (myocardial infarction, heart failure, congenital heart defects, heart transplantation, obstructive sleep apnea, etc.) in all phases of the disease from the bedside, outpatient phase to the lifelong maintenance phase. Issues of training settings, respiratory physiotherapy, nutrition, psychosocial support, as well as pharmacotherapy or arrhythmias are also simply described. The book places great emphasis on changing the cardiac patient's behavior, describing and eliminating risk factors for coronary artery disease, which are crucial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and achieving goals over the long term. Finally, the book includes a separate chapter on cardiovascular telerehabilitation. The strengths of this publication are its multidisciplinary overlap, topicality, practical applicability and detailed description of all key areas of a comprehensive approach. Given the fact that cardiovascular disease is a major cause in global morbidity and mortality, cardiovascular rehabilitation, with its proven therapeutic effects, will play an increasingly important role.
