Description Laminated glass with SentryGlas Ionoplast Interlayers exhibits significantly lower adhesion parameters if the ionoplast interlayer is laminated on the air side of glass plates. Therefore, plasma surface modification of the air side of the glass, as well as plasma modification of SentryGlas interlayer was studied to improve the adhesion of glass-ionoplast interlayer interface. This is particularly important for the production of multi-ply laminated glass products, which utilize both tin- and air – sides of glass plates. Resistance tests of manufactured laminated glass with utilized plasma technology, in particular, temperature resistance tests, the effect of humidity and humidity with tension, the test of compatibility with silicon coating and the test of resistance to cycles of frost and damp heat proved that plasma modification of glass and SentryGlas interlayer does not have a direct negative effect on the stability of the manufactured laminated glass. Irradiation test proved that plasma modification of glass and SentryGlas interlayer does not change the optical performance of manufactured laminated glass. Performed Pendulum test proved that laminated glass of type 44.2 manufactured using plasma surface modification of glass and SentryGlas interlayer performed better mechanical parameters in comparison to laminated glass manufactured by conventional technology using adhesion improving primer applied on the glass to improve the adhesive bond to a surface and the adhesion level of the interlayer to the glass.
