Description In recent years, extremely powerful topics have appeared on the world, European and Czech scene, bringing tremendous changes in society, in international relations and in energy. Their gradual arrival has been brutally drowned out by the geopolitical and energy crisis caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. This is a turning point unprecedented in the last three decades, and even has the potential to transform the post-war order. Not only in Europe, fundamental changes are now taking place in relations between states and in supply-customer chains, as well as in the area of climate policies, with a fundamental impact on the shape of the energy sectors. The basic thesis of the presented publication is the multidisciplinarity of energy security and its interweaving with many state policies. In its first two parts, the book deals with world and European events of recent years and their influence on European energy policy. The third part focuses on changes in the Czech Republic, not only in the field of Czech foreign policy towards Russia and the Eastern region, but above all in the field of the country's energy security. The level of European integration is also reflected. The most affected sectors are electricity industry, coal and nuclear energy as well as supply of commodities, fuels and related infrastructure. The book is intended primarily for a lay audience across society, but with its structured interpretation and comprehensive concept in context, it can definitely appeal to experienced experts, analysts, journalists or the academic public.
