Description Secondary glaucoma occurs in patients with Fuchs heterochromic iridocyclitis not only as a complication of chronic intraocular inflammation, when IOP fluctuations occur during inflammatory attacks, inflammatory changes in the trabecular area also play a role in etiopathogenesis, peripheral anterior synechiae and ventricular angle closure are more rarely reported, steroid glaucoma with prolonged corticosteroid therapy and neovascular glaucoma. Patients should be approached individually and surgical interventions should always be considered and timed with regard to the activity of intraocular inflammation in case of insufficient intraocular pressure compensation. The use of antimetabolites and the surgical procedure with drainage implants increase the chances of the operation being effective.
